Professional Dancer to Personal Trainer

I had my first contact with ballet at the age of five in Moscow.

Just as other boys were sent to play football, I was sent to ballet lessons. What began with external motivation soon developed into a passion. At fourteen, I left home to attend a ballet boarding school in Mannheim, and at eighteen, I moved on to London, where I completed my dance studies at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Until 2018, I worked as a professional dancer on stages in Germany, Israel, England, and Switzerland.

But then I had to end my career…

The Injury That Ended My Dance Career

Even at the beginning of my professional training in Mannheim, I experienced regular knee pain.

Today, I know that the knee pain, and thus the injury that ended my dance career, could have been avoided.

A postural imbalance, ignored countless times, ultimately led to the final overload.

Had I listened more consciously to my body and known more about sports medicine training… I would have found ways to prevent it.

Today, I aim to help my clients to build body awareness, enabling them to recognize their own limits and postural imbalances, and to avoid injuries during training.

I completed my personal trainer education in 2016 at the German Sport University Cologne. Since then, I have had the privilege of helping countless individuals develop healthy body awareness.

What drives me as a personal trainer

It is wonderful to see how people get up every day and do something for their health.

Every day, I see people in the gym shedding sweat and tears to achieve their goals. Unfortunately, I also observe that a large number of these individuals perform many exercises completely incorrect.

Ultimately, they leave the studio with tennis elbows, worn-out spinal discs, or inflamed shoulder joints. They train incorrectly, thereby risking injuries instead of strengthening their bodies.

What truly moves me is when clients tell me after just a few weeks of working together how much the coaching has improved their self-perception.

  • They sit at their desks for extended periods of time without the dull sensation of an impending cramp.
  • They feel muscles they didn’t even know existed.
  • The comments of their treating physiotherapist confirm the progress.

In such moments, I know it was worth taking the step into self-employment.

The 3-Phase Coaching: Your Toolkit for Long-Term Health and Motivated Training

Ever followed a workout video and thought, ‘Wait, am I even doing this right?’ Maybe you didn’t feel it where you were supposed to, or you ended up sore in all the wrong places because your technique wasn’t quite right.

I’ve created a program specifically to prevent this. It guides you through building body awareness gradually, so you can train with confidence and get results without the pain

How does the program work?

  • In an initial assessment, I’ll check your current body awareness and identify any postural imbalances or mobility issues you might have.
  • Based on this analysis, we can determine which phases you need to complete for optimal progress.
  • For 90% of my clients, a combination of phases 1-3 has led to the desired results.
  • For all those who wish to go a step further, I have developed the fourth phase.
